Random rummaging through DNS Stuff revealed a shocking fact: nobody has ever registered batpup.com! Can you believe it?

This time, however, I decided to do something about it. There's nothing there yet, but there will be! At US$7.50 and a few mouse clicks to register, why wouldn't I?

You'd be familiar with Slashdot, of course. And a while ago someone came up with a spoof site called ampersandcolon (now defunct). You'd think the joke was well and truly tapped out, but I just had a brainstorm, and it turns out that backslashapostrophe.com is still available. Amazing!

Now... what the hell would I use that for...?

I've just noticed, apropos of nothing at all, that the domain name flashcrowd.org is unregistered and available. So the question is: what would you use it for?

Flash Crowds were invented by Larry Niven in a short SF story about the social effects of teleportation. They're somewhat imitated by Flash mobs, pre-arranged groups of apparently random people ("without the benefit of teleportation", as Wikipedia says) and in a different way by the Slashdot Effect.

So what would you use the domain flashcrowd.org for???
